Carol is an incredible foster carer who has opened her home to more than 130 children and young people over the past 27 years.

Carol shared, “I might get asked, ‘Can you have this child overnight?’ And then very shortly it’s, ‘Would you be able to have them a bit longer?’ And some kids end up staying for years… When I heard about the Kids Under Cover studios, I thought, ‘That is a brilliant idea.’”

Thanks to the generosity of kind supporters like you, 50 of the young people Carol has cared for have stayed in the Kids Under Cover studio she received. 

But despite the commitment of foster carers like Carol, a heartbreaking one in six young people aged 15 to 19 in Australia are experiencing homelessness right now.

As the cost of living continues to rise and the housing strain intensifies, families across the country are counting on us to provide the help of a studio to keep their young people in the safety of their home.

But sadly, we are currently only able to fund one in four applications for studios. We’re ready to build but we lack the funding to provide enough studios for everyone who needs one.
